Above is my Radio Shack HTX-200 HT. I've had it for about 3 years and it has performed well. It's used for repeater contacts around town. Running only 200 milliwatts on 2 pen cells and 2 watts on 9 volts, it's somewhat of a peanut whistle. I built up a regulator circuit in an old cellfone car plug in cord for mobile ops and I use a mag mount quarter wave on the vehicles. I've had to replace the PTT switch once. It is an 1/8" x 1/4" SMD type and took a lot of searching in the Mouser catalog to find one that would sub. If you're in the same boat someday, the Mouser number is 101-TS3724T1600.
